Framed pictures and mirrors combine the two things shipping networks handle worst: glass and corners. A frame that looks sturdy on the wall can crack at a mitered corner, the glass can shatter and scratch the art underneath, and a mirror can break from a single hard knock on its edge. Most of that damage…
Guitars are built to be played, not thrown onto conveyor belts. The neck is long and thin, the headstock joint is a weak point, and a sudden drop can crack a top or snap a headstock clean off. Whether you sold a guitar online, are sending one for repair, or are mailing it to a…
Packages travel through conveyor belts, sorting machines, trucks and delivery vans, and they get stacked, tipped and dropped along the way. A box that looks fine on your kitchen table can arrive crushed, open or rattling with broken pieces. Most damage is not bad luck. It comes from a few predictable packing mistakes. This guide…
Jewelry is small and light, which makes it cheap to ship in theory. In practice it is one of the trickiest things to send. A ring can slip out of a padded envelope, a necklace can tangle or snap, a watch face can crack, and an obviously valuable package can attract the wrong kind of…

These after-the-fact charges are called billing adjustments, and for anyone who ships regularly, they can quietly add a meaningful…
Shipping costs have a way of creeping up. You pick a box that looks about right, choose a service that sounds fast enough, and the total at checkout is higher than you expected. Do that a few times a month and the money adds up quickly, whether you are sending gifts to family or orders…
Signed contracts, closing papers, legal filings, original certificates: some documents simply have to be somewhere tomorrow. When a scan or an email attachment will not do, overnight shipping is the answer, but it is also the most expensive way to send anything, and small choices about packaging and timing can make a big difference to…
You ship a package on Thursday afternoon and the recipient needs it by the weekend. Or you are selling online and a buyer asks whether their order can arrive on Saturday. Weekend delivery sounds simple, but each carrier handles it differently, and the cheapest service on Monday through Friday is not always the one that…
